Dizer que algo is just around the corner pode ter o significado literal, ou seja, que algo “está logo após a esquina” (está muito perto). Ou também pode ter o significado figurativo, que algo está prestes a acontecer ou está muito próximo no tempo.

Seria equivalente a dizermos que algo “já está chegando” (que está prestes a acontecer).
