Dicas B2B: CITY HALL e CITY

Às vezes temos que resolver algum problema relacionado aos serviços da cidade, como IPTU, coleta de lixo, tirar alguma certidão etc. O local onde ficam estes serviços ou onde o prefeito efetivamente trabalha é chamado de prefeitura. Este local, em inglês, é chamado de city hall. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Por exemplo: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - Protesters gathered in front of the city hall this morning. (Manifestantes se reuniram em frente à prefeitura hoje de manhã.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - They’re building a huge mall next to the city hall. (Estão construindo um shopping enorme ao lado da prefeitura.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Porém, quando queremos nos referir à administração da cidade, não necessariamente o prédio, geralmente usamos o termo city. O mesmo termo (city) pode ser utilizado quando queremos dizer “municipal”, “do município”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Por exemplo: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - It's the city's responsibility to maintain the sidewalks.
